I'd like to introduce you to my new series "Stranger Than Fiction". I hope to bring you stories that may seem strange, and fabulous, and fantastic and untrue. But in actual fact, may be "Stranger Than Fiction!".
The first episode is about the classic fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast. The narrative is based on the fairy tale written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve which was published in 1740. It is also the version Disney based its animation and more recent movie on.
There are many versions of the tale of beauty and her beast however, what most people do not know is that this version is based on fact!
The real story took place in the 1500s and is based on genuine people.
It is surrounded by sadness, intrigue, and a love that lasted over forty years!
